About Mugisha
Recovery after a stroke is slow and it is measured in what someone can do at home, not in the clinic. Half of my work is training the family member who does the other six days of the week.
The first appointment is 60 minutes and I ask that whoever helps at home comes along.
How I work
- Function-first goals: standing from a chair, getting to the bathroom, holding a cup.
- Caregiver taught the transfers directly, with a practice run before you leave.
- Written progress note every month for the treating doctor.
